03.5 Visual Design for Print & Screen: Identity Design Part 2

This part of the identity design was very challenging for me. I wasn’t super comfortable or satisfied with my logo design, and working with Photoshop as an extreme beginner was slow going.

I think my favorite part of the assignment was designing the brand sheet (below):

I really enjoyed choosing my typeface, Montserrat. I love how cute but elegant it looks, and I think it fits perfectly with my color scheme.

Below are my photoshopped logo examples:

I think something that was really hard about the Photoshop portion of the assignment was making sure that the size of my logo was still legible. For instance, in the last example, I tried to put my logo on a punch card, but the shadowing doesn’t look quite right.

Overall, this assignment was a huge creative challenge for me. I hope to continue working on my logo and developing it as I grow as a designer.

Update**

In class I got some feedback about the legibility of the type in my logo, as well as the contrast of the two colors. In order to address the feedback, I made each letter thicker and more obvious, and chose a more contrasting set of colors for the logo.
